Click HereLaab is a popular dish in Lao cuisine. Laab means minced meat but it doesn’t matter what type of meat you use. I used Steak in this recipe but you’re more than welcome to use chicken, pork, beef or fish!
Rice powder provides a nutty flavor to sprinkle on top of your laab. It can be hard to find in stores but luckily it’s easy to make yourself. Take your rice and toast it on the stove until it’s golden brown then ground it up until it turns into powder.
Is a small but extremely potent chili pepper. These chilies pack a significant punch and are renowned for their intense heat and vibrant flavor.
This is a key ingredient as it adds a distinctive savory taste to the dish. Fish sauce has a strong smell on its own, but when used in moderation and balanced with other ingredients, it adds a wonderful depth of flavor.
Lettuce or Bok Choy add freshness to this dish apparently but I think it just makes the meat easier to grab when you have a little piece of lettuce or bok choy to help pick it up.
